Week 6 Roundup

As I was derelict in my duties as Blogmaster General last week I want to extend absolutely no apologies.
Two more weeks to go and Alex remains undefeated but we have a people nipping at his heels if he were to make one single slip. It's Ross' turn to have a crack at the big man this week and I will cover that in my predictions on Monday.
Alex V Max - 94-71
Prediction: Max
So I was right in one sense - that I was living in delusion. Alex and Max kept it close for a majority of the game but the pointy eared fucks saw off the police comfortably by the end.
Elven shenanigans backed up by a Wraithknight is paying dividends but can Alex hold the course and win the league with a model I said he would hate? Or will he cave to the pressure and add 20 more Reapers and 5 more Fire Dragon? I am not sure he has named his Wraithknight yet either which is utterly shameful.

Mike V Tom - 69 (nice) - 50
Prediction: Tom
Obviously I now need an award for someone scoring bang on 69 VP and winning. Goddammit.
This was the clone-off with Bile buffing both sides of the table with his horrible mutations. Mike's lads for +1A and +1 S whereas Tom's got +1A and +2" - the two inch movement is a great buff to get in a mirror match.
Tom did make some interesting changes to his list prior to playing Mike, with his Wildcard. Mike predicted Tom would add three Forgefiends just to fuck him up and Tom did no such thing, he would never tailor like that. He added two Forgefiends. Like a gentleman.
The Forgefiends did pretty horrible things - killing 6 Possessed and 8 Chosen in a round of shooting. Never doing much else but the damage was done.

Toss Rully V Barks - 100-60
Prediction: Toss
Both players went into this game filled with uncertainty and unease. Both certain you could 1" a certain objective ruin, both throwing up evidence and chastising those that spoke out against them! Toss Rully even went so far as to doubt the holy word of Toby and, for that, risks excommunication. We are all (Dan especially) thankful that some hyper nerd did the maths to prove Toby right.
Also Ross bummed Barks in the game.

Me V Sean - 90-44
Prediction: Sean
I will start by shouting Sean for being such a gentleman whilst receiving such a savage bummery. I honestly didn't think I was going to win this - Chris' extensive use of C'tan in 10th have scarred me.
I started the game with a regarded mistake - Combi Lieutenant toeing the middle to tempt Sean out and I could have stickied it. I forgot Nightbringer has enough shooting to absolutely merk a Combi Lieutenant, which it promptly did. Losing a cool scoring piece and re roll 1s to wound T1 was not an auspicious start.
However shit was about to get auspicious as fuck. I decided it was time to commit...everything. Nightbringer Oathed. Land Raider Redeemer rolled forward, unloading Calgar + Company Heroes and three Eradicators. Impulsor lets the Bladeguard out and they zoom forward. Three units of three Inceptors land in plumes of fire and a Vindicator appears as if from nowhere. Everything is staring down the Nightbringer, a DDA, Szeras and a unit of Skorpekhs with Lord. It's showtime.
The Eradicators blew 10 wounds off the Nightbringer and Calgar finished the job with fist pistols. Boom town, the show has started. DDA got got, units of Skorpekhs got got, BGV and Calgar all charged in to just be in front of Sean's deployment zone. Weird Space Marine jail was activated.
Sean did try and claw it back but his Immortals whiffed into Bladeguard, killing 2. Szeras, Wraiths and Skorpekhs slowly murdered Calgar, his squad and the Bladeguard over a couple of turns. But by then the Inceptors had zoomed about stealing all primary and it was a matter of dignity playing until the end.
Sean's rolling was also not a strong advertisement for Hobby Henchmen dice! Thank you for the game Sean and alleviating the pain of not playing Daemons.

Craig V Chris - 70-87
Prediction: Chris
So I based this prediction on the mental indirect list Chris was running but that revolved around Scions and Bridgehead...which is no more. So Chris returned to what he knows - a fuck load of 2+ save tanks in your face. If it ain't broke...
It was actually a relatively close game but just so many fucking tough tanks to chew through while they block objectives and shoot at your face.

Dan V Angus (74-68)
Prediction: Dan
My shitposting about Angus is getting dangerously close to no longer being accurate as he starts to remember his rules and games are getting closer and closer. Imagine the power coursing through Angus if he were to remember EVERY rule of his army? I genuinely believe Angus will hit the peak of his rule remembering just as the Codex comes out and shatters it all to pieces. We will have to ask Alex to watch the waters for a floating kilt.

Freddie V Kyle - 80-20
Prediction: Kyle
I stand by my prediction that the curse would have persisted but Freddie avoids calamity due to Kyle not being able to make it. Freddie at least believes he is free of the curse but we shall see.

Mark V Gray - 75-84
Prediction: Gray
I did say that if Gary played he would lose but fortunately Gray turned up. It is a genuinely tough list to chew through unless you have a plethora of tools to deal with armour so kudos to Mark for keeping it pretty close here.
The Tyrant did Tyrant things - turned up, shot once and then blew up. At least with Josh bringing three it means he can fire the harpoon 3 times!
This is the list Gary is taking at the weekend and I look forward to his regular raging that he should have just taken more war dogs.

Neil V Ben - 20-80
Prediction: Eldar Bullshit Beats Neil.
I was off my nut on ketamine when I wrote this prediction as Eldar weren't even involved. This was a free win for Ben as Neil couldn't make it and the king of spot prizes will take it!
