Week 2 Predictions

We continue our eternal battle against the pointlessness of existing with another week of League battles!
At the end of Week 1 we have Alex, Mike and Jack is 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and Max, Angus and Gary down in the abyss of the bottom of the table.
What does Week 2 hold and will my predictions hold true? I got 66% accuracy last week and I shall not be drawn in by my heart this time!
This week the mission is Purge the Foe so the more murdery you are the better!
I will work from the bottom to the top, as that is just the sort of man I am.
Gary Vs Angus
Gary embarrassed himself last week but was fortunate that Luke was bearing the "being shit at 40k" load so the merking was less mocked.
We still aren't 100% sure if Angus knows what Victory Points are so I will be predicting a win for the Chaos Knights here. They also play the mission well, being both quite durable and fairly killy. If Angus can get Magnus to do the heavy lifting and not die he could go for a higher kill count but I don't think competing on the objectives is likely.

Neil Vs Max
The Ultramarines sport a whole load of old school miniatures to compliment their gunline however Max's agents may well put a lot of them behind a wall of idiots, limiting their impact.
Outside of Canis I don't think Max has much to scratch the undoubtedly immaculate paint of the Ultramarines, but he does have Canis. If the Vindicators are still standing after the big dawgs arrival he is toast and the game is Neil's, if they aren't then Max's swarm will get this.
I will back Canis Rex to do his thing here.

Dan Vs Ben
The grotesque versus the barbaric. The visually abhorrent vs the mindless. In fairness though they are both nice guys.
Dan's plague boys versus Ben's angry ones and Ben is still sporting the fairly mental 20 Terminators and 9 Exalted Eightbound. It will genuinely be interesting to see this as although I think Ben's list is a nonsense it probably will be decent in Purge as that is a lot of wounds and FNP to chew through. But the flipside of that is the general toughness of Nurgle
My prediction is for Dan to come out with the win just due to being able to rack up a good secondary score compared to Ben, and be able to blunt the horde of berzerkers just enough.

Kyle Vs Craig
At least Kyle's use of the Wildcard was after a game, unlike mine, and it was a proper re-work - leaning hard into Warpbane goodness. It looks proper dangerous now but it will rely on Kyle to deliver the goods effectively as the DKs and Purifiers are fairly fragile compared to their damage output.
Craig has pretty standard DG goodness in a nice well rounded package, just like Craig himself.
I think it was take a couple of games for Kyle to find his stride as DKs can be finickity to get the most out of but once he does he will soar. Until then imma plump for ma boi Craigy.

Chris Vs Freddie
Whilst Freddie is currently on a run of bad form as long as he plays with a clock he will beat Chris :P
Fortunately for Freddie Chris' objective holders don't have a 4+++ against his whole army this time so that is a benefit. Still not sure how well the bikes do into a brick of Krieg or heavy targets like TC's but there is a great deal of board control there if he can clear the big blobs.
I am going to fall back on my idea that Outriders en-masse outside of Ravenwing are poo and back Chris to win this one.

Sam Vs Ross
Now we're getting serious, because I'm involved. I am a serious guy. I serious cereals for breakfast and only listen to serious music.
After my brutalising of Ross, against this list of his but with my Daemons, with no assistance from my dice (which I shall be bringing again), I am riding a high of confidence and utterly unassailable.
The only things that could dent my confidence, hypothetically, is that I am still quite bad with this, Ross is better than me at 40k, has significantly more OC than me across the board and can pop tanks for fun. But that is all irrelevant as my victory shall come at any cost!
Also I am backing Ross to win.

Tom Vs Mark
I know Tom is eager for a Wildcard use but in this particular matchup I think the blood will flow. Predators, Obliterators and many Rubrics at +1 AP are gonna do horrible things to Marines is my feeling.
It isn't like Mark doesn't have his own tools though - Biologis Aggressor Brick, Redemptor and Vindicator as well as FF Bladeguard. The problem is I think Tom can pick the fights from greater range and it will take some careful positioning to be able to hit back hard enough.
Tom for the win here unless the Aggressors get their teeth in.
Jack Vs Sean
Approaching the top of the table here and we have a Necron-off - Starshatter vs Awakened. The double C'tan can often be difficult for people to deal with however TSK giving ignore modifiers means Sean has to be more careful than the standard "throw them into the middle" tactic that is usually solid.
There is still a lot of dangerous stuff in Sean's list but honestly I don't know the Awakened strats well enough to back it versus the lethality of Starshatter. Jack to continue his path to glory is my call here.
Alex Vs Mike
The clash of titans at the top of the table - we will find out if there is a chink in Alex's chitinous armour.
Mike knows Hyper super well and Alex is a little fresh into his Aeldari so that would make me think the advantage lies with the robot lads. I also doubted Alex last week and ended up with pie on my face - why would I ever doubt the l reigning champ!? Well I am going to do it again here I'm afraid. The Hyper list into squishy elves on Purge makes me think this will be a real uphill slog.
OK I just wrote all of that forgetting Mike is running Creations of Bile...so let's start over.
Mike is running lots of very fast punchy boys that can probably body an Avatar but can also be quite screenable with the pointy ears. This is Purge though so how much screening can you afford? I am hoping if Alex's WK performs again he names him.
I was going to revert to backing Alex but I think this is just a shit mission for them if the opposition has the tools to take out the Avatar so I am going for Mike. Sorry Alex!
PS I ran out of image creation ability towards the end, I will source something new for next week!
