Round 7 Predictions

The penultimate week is here and we have four people competing for the crown - Tom, Ross, Max and Mike. For Max or Mike to have a chance one of Tom or Ross would have to lose both games and, as they are playing each other this week, it is possible.
With Neil dropping this week and Alex previously dropping we are down to eight games and these predictions are hot of the presses of my brain stuff.
Tom S V Ross
Prediction: Ross
Earlier in the league I would have put Tom down as I do think his army is "better", especially as Ross refuses to accept the glory of Canis, but I get a sense Mr Tully has sniffed victory here and is gonna put the game face on.
Will that be enough to stop the hordes of gribblies at Tom's disposal? Potentially as this is Purge the Foe there is an advantage for Ross here as Tom will have to expose actual shit to hold more and then they are at real threat of getting hosed (obviously more of a threat if Canis was there but).
The primary game, I think, is quite in Ross' favour here but he also might be suffering chicken withdrawals so it could go either way.

Me V Mike
Prediction: Mike
I won't lie the life has gone out of me playing Space Marines right now, especially Codex SM. I am so obsessed with Daemons at the moment playing these straight-edge lads just doesn't cut the mustard and why I am running a super weird list. I won't play like a spaz on purpose don't get me wrong, I just might play like a spaz because I think everything is a Plaguebearer.
When I played Tom's similar but a little different Bile list he completely ruined me. However I was playing the day after a GT and made some seriously rookie errors so would like to at least put up a decent showing.
My list really struggles to hold back the tide of lunatics long enough to get a foothold and while I think I could deal with one brick of loons, or maybe two, I am not sure about three.

Max V Chris
Prediction: Max
While I think this could actually go either way (assuming Chris wildcards into his 80 Krieg list) I know Max is well practiced with his list now and Chris is always one temptation away from the red mist descending and trading Dorns for action monkeys.
Chris's new list I think genuinely has play and it's a lot of idiots vs another lot of idiots, one backup up by tanks and the other by Deathwatch. Should be an interesting game if they both try and compete for kill more and hold more.

Jack V Craig
Prediction: Jack
If there is one thing I know about Craig - it's that he loves facing Necrons. Eat's them for breakfast. Puts them on toast and gobbles them up. IN OPPOSITE WORLD!
Craig dislikes playing Necrons but Jack is so distracted by getting entry level good at GSC and then immediately buying a new army who fucking knows what will happen.
I think Craig will go in expecting the loss and this might allow Jack to capitalise on a show of mental frailty.

Sean V Dan
Prediction: Sean
Ah Sean and Dan, both names are quietly simple and together sound like they belong to a sitcom where they run a failing hardware store.
Dan has spent most of this week in his "Calculation Room" - walls of datasheets, algorithms and efficiency charts, maximising his chance of slaying a C'tan with the exact right amount of gunfire. If the rest of us weren't so busy outside touching grass it would be adorable.
Mortarion is actually a really useful piece into a C'tan, ignore his half damage shenanigans so cunning use of him will be important. We all know how cunning Dan is - the man is running a Land Raider.

Freddie V Mark
Prediction: Freddie
Frederick seems to be throwing off his curse recently so can he continue the trend here? It is a possibility as it is an unusual army. I do think Mark has the tools to completely murder Freddie's absurd number of Blood Claws but it is whether he can figure out how to deal with this nonsense quick enough and not get overwhelmed in the process.
Mark needs to trade sensibly and accept the early loss in primary as Freddie surges forward, then punish him with the full might of Ultramar and catch up later.

Angus V Ben
Prediction: Feels a bit too much like picking the least regarded child in a regarded classroom
The wooden spoon collectors duke it out here in a battle for the ages. Have they read their rules or just loosely aware they exist? Can onlookers figure out how them seem to be functionally successful human in their day-to-day life and still play like this?
OK so Angus has actually been remembering like 95% of his rules recently and results are getting closer. And I will continue to mention how hilarious this timing is as Tsons is the next book out because it tickles me endlessly.
I think Purge has some benefits for Ben's WE as he wants to be moving forward and killing whereas Angus doesn't want too many of his Rubrics sat in the open on objectives.
Both players have to navigate having 25% of the oppositions army flying around like a murder machine so that is always fun.

Gray V Kyle
Prediction: Gray
Another couple of lads sniffing around the spoony end of the table here after what might be Gary's worst league performance since we began doing this (including coming in half way through).
A win for Gary here might claw him into mid table mediocrity but Kyle needs it to avoid a dignity defining final game. On the other hand being the spoon at least gets you a prize.
